Down the Mumbles yesterday 20:21 - Aug 12 with 4353 views | Flashberryjack | Me and the missus took advantage of the lovely weather yesterday, and decided to risk a visit to Castlemare restaurant for a light lunch. There were plenty of people about, but to be fair, everyone was socially distancing and being very respectful of it. What a fantastic place to have lunch, sat there eating a nice meal with a pint of cold Peroni overlooking Bracelet bay, absolutely stunning, something we would have been doing on the holiday we didn't have this year. I know it's been said many times, but we really don't appreciate the beauty of our country. To round off a really lovely day, we decided to stop at the Old Havana on the way back home for a couple of cocktails (wife had taken over driving duties). 3 cocktails for £10, what a f*cking rip off, the alcohol content was zero, I thought I'd be clever and tried to go to the bar and order another, so I could watch them making it, but of course due to corvid virus I wasn't allowed to. The robbing tw*ts....anyone else had the similar experience there ?

Down the Mumbles yesterday on 21:11 - Aug 12 with 3804 views | fbreath | Not been to Old Havana but they are crap at answering emails for reservations. Emailed them as per their website instructions, had auto response saying they take 24 hours to respond. Two days later no reply. Tried ring about 10 times at different times of the day but no answer. Emailed again, same auto reply email one week later and no reply from either email. I only persisted because friend and his wife were keen to go there. Restaurants complain about no shows but this is just crap customer service. They can stick their Havana where the sun don’t shine. But I agree we have some wonderful beauty spots close by.

Tell you friend not to bother, unless they like non-alcohol cocktails at £4.50 a chuck.

Pre- match Peroni at Frankie and Benny's is a similar price. Plastic glass too.

Yes it was, £5.60 to be exact, but considering the beautiful view I was drinking it in, and the fact it was only the one pint and not a piss up, it's around the price I would have expected to pay. I've paid similar for a pint in some pretty grotty little hotels/bars that serve warm flat larger, so no big deal to paying £5.60 for a nice cool Peroni drank in such wonderful surroundings. As for the Old Havana, that's not only a rip off, but selling alcoholic cocktails that don't contain alcohol is illegal I'd have thought.

It would have been the same price if it were a “piss up” I agree it’s a great spot, in some ways I prefer it on a windy winters day looking down and across towards the lighthouse at the waves crashing in. Sitting inside there has never interested me so seldom have more than 2 pints there before moving on. Heard today The Pilot does not intend to open until at least Christmas which is a shame. Corvids are pretty tough. West Nile Virus is one of the few things to really affect them. This is often thought to be a major threat- big problem in the US. Carried by mozzies. Can kill people and horses too. One that’s been on the watch list for a while. But unlike exciting flaviviruses we get a boring pandemic like coronavirus

Down the Mumbles yesterday on 21:51 - Oct 15 with 2124 views | Flashberryjack | Just an update on my visit to the Old Havana, Swansea. I put a post up on tripadvisor, complaining that there was very little or no alcohol in their cocktails. This is the response I had, bear in mind, they do sell alcohol free "mocktails"and the 3 for £10 had no mention of lower alcohol content on the menu. What do you reckon, rip off or not ? Old Havana manager. Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Our 3-4-£10 cocktails do have slightly lower alcohol content than a standard cocktail, this is due to us wanting to encourage responsible drinking and keep both our guests and our staff safe. All other cocktails across our menu contain the standard measure of alcohol that you would expect. [Post edited 15 Oct 2020 21:59]

That is why the minges go there, cos they can't hack the alcohol lol Stay away from there is my advice, full of poofs. These types of places are heaving on Beaujolais Day type events, once a year drinkers who cause nowt but hassle to myself and others...unfortunately, this is society in 2020 🤨
