Down The Line

... my whole career when during a minute's silence held for the sad deaths of two Swans supporters, Mr Darryl Davies, and Mrs Marlene Phillips, more than 5,500 fans paid their respects in a minute's silence that was deafening. Unfortunately not one national newspaper cared to mention the magnificent gesture, so I shall take it upon myself to say a big thank you to all those fans especially, the visiting Bristol Rovers supporters, who showed the real side of the British football fans in the magnificent way they observed the silence. On to the game. and a quiet first half with little incident but a much better second half with the game going from end to end and although it finished 0-0. I really enjoyed the game and thought both sides played some good football and either side could have won. And but for two magnificent saves by Big Rog. we could even have lost, which would have been very cruel. Talking of Big Rog. I am sure every Swans fan will be delighted that he has committed himself to the club for a longer contract, and it is good to see the club looking to secure its players on longer-term contracts, therefore helping to secure the future of the club. It was very nice to see Damian Lacey back in action, and although he will take a little while to get fully match fit, he proved at Cambridge and last Saturday that his passing will be a major asset in the months ahead and give John Hollins a very useful addition to his squad.
