Swans Flag Appeal

Help The Swansea City Flag Appeal

There has been much discussion on the Message Boards in the past about a Giant flag being needed for the Stands at White Rock, sorry I mean Liberty Stadium.

Well this is something that the club have taken on board and if it is to be done it will be done in complete style and they have already done some work on this themselves. The below two pictures show what kind of thing is being thought of and underneath that we will give you the cost.

So that is the easy bit - showing you the pictures. Now for the hard part - the cost.

The club have priced a flag 60 foot high and completely flameproof in the design of a Swansea City shirt and the cost is a staggering £3,750 plus VAT. or to put it another way £4406.25.

The good news is that our shirt manufacturers, Macron have elected to put up half the cost - £2200. So we're halfway there but now the appeal comes down to the fans.

We have agreed to co-ordinate the Swansea City web sites appealing for donations into the fund to try and raise the remaining £2200. It's a big task and once we have kicked this appeal off on the internet it will move into the matchday programme as well to appeal to those that are without net access.

We know the Jack Army is generous and we will now test that generosity to see if we can obtain one of these flags and what a site it will look. Anyone the has witnessed these being passed along the fans at grounds will know just how good an effect they can have.

So let's go for it. The good news is that we are yet to kick off the appeal and we have the first £250 in the bag. Ugo and Julie Vallario of the Official Travel Club have put up the first £100, Gary Evans of G:Travel fame another £100 and JackArmy.net contributes £50 to the cause. Under £2000 to go.

Can we do it?
