Trundle: I Have Proved My Worth

Lee Trundle believes that his double against Peterborough should be enough to prove his worth to Paulo Sousa

The Swansea City frontman is in the last few weeks of his loan spell at the Liberty and hopes to secure a more permanent stay by the end of the month.

But the leading scorer hopes that his near match winning performance on Saturday could be enough to sway the Swans boss that he is worthy of a longer return to the Liberty

He told the Evening Post "I have said all along that Swansea is where I want to play my football and all I can do is try to show what I can do when I get a chance

"It has been a little frustrating not being involved all the time because everybody knows how much I want to stay here.

"The more you are sitting on the bench or you're not even in the squad, the harder it is to impress because you can't show anything.

"Saying that, we have been on a great run, so you can't really complain, and I understand the way we play.

"We keep the ball in midfield and, if that means coming off the bench and doing the type of thing I did on Saturday, well it's a squad game, isn't it?

"Obviously in an ideal world I would like to play with two strikers — that's how I've played all my career and one up front is new to me.

"But we went with two up front against Peterborough when I came on and thankfully I managed to score a couple of goals, so I think that's shown I've still got something to offer if needed.

"Whenever the chance comes I'm champing at the bit to do well — I will do everything in my power to stay at Swansea.

"I haven't heard anything from the manager, but obviously I will have to know something this month."
