Same again please Pompey (apart from the 95th minute bit)

Six games to go in the League Two season and Pompey aren't going up - nor are they going down. So it could be difficult for anyone, players or fans, to get too worked up or passionate about the final half-a-dozen games.

Nevertheless, an upbeat end to the campaign can see the Blues finish higher than last season - and may see a few players secure themselves a place in the club's plans for next season.

The final stage of the season begins with Plymouth's visit to Fratton on Easter Monday afternoon and boss Andy Awford reckons he should have no trouble lifting his players after they saw a 2-1 lead vanish in the fifth minute of injury time at Carlisle on Friday.

He told the Pompey website: 'We didn’t get what we deserved at Carlisle, but we have to dust ourselves down and be ready to go again. Plymouth are at the other end of the table, so we need to give them a good game and hopefully take three points.

'They’ve been in and around the play-off places for most of the season and the ‘Dockyard Derby’ tag gives it a bit of extra spice. It’s a game that we’re looking forward to playing and we’ll be doing our best to give the fans something to cheer about.

'If we play to the same levels that we showed on Friday then we’ll be in with a decent chance of doing that. But he have to learn to win see games out because we didn’t do that against Carlisle.'

Pompey have a host of defensive injury worries ahead of the game. With Paul Robinson and Jack Whatmough out for the season, Ben Chorley and Nyron Nosworthy picked up injuries at Carlisle. Adam Webster stands by.
