Wallace - 'will he' or 'won't he'? Or is it just 'when will he?'

Jed Wallace insists he genuinely doesn't know if he will leave Pompey before the start of next season.

The 17-goal star of the campaign admits a move away from Fratton is possible - but points out plenty of people thought he'd be off a year ago.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with York which brought down the curtain on Pompey's 2014-15 efforts, Wallace told The News: ‘Saturday was emotional at the end. It’s a really tricky situation for me because I love the club so much, I love living in the city, I love the people and I have always given my all.

‘But people aren’t stupid and know what may happen in the summer. It might be goodbye, it might not be goodbye. In football nothing is certain and I had this last season when everybody thought I may go.

‘By no means am I ruling out playing for Pompey next season because I love playing football here, you never say never. But I have made it no secret I don’t want to play in League Two until I am 25 and if Pompey had been promoted this season it is an absolute no-brainer me staying, 110 per cent there wouldn’t even be a question of me going.

‘Unfortunately, though, it is an individual sport as well as a team sport and you have to worry about yourself and worry about your family. It’s not like we are in the Premier League and another Premier League team from three places above comes in and you insist you stay because you love it here.

‘It has been such a disappointing season and I have given it my absolute everything, so I am now going on holiday, putting my feet up and speaking to the people I need to speak to.

‘There is interest in me, I am not going to sit here and lie. I have scored from midfield and that is always going to generate interest. I have just got to see what happens.’
