Samuel Di Carmine was the third youngster to join QPR from Serie A in the summer of 2008, initially on loan for the whole of the 2008/09 season.

Di Carmine, 19, was born in Florence and made his debut for his home town club back in October 2006 as a sub in a 1-0 win at Torino in Serie A. The 6ft 2ins target man made a further sub appearance in a 2-0 victory against Udinese and scored his first goal for the club in the UEFA cup against Swedish outfit IF Elfsborg – Di Carmine got the final goal in a 6-1 hammering after coming on as a sub with ten minutes to go.

Manager Iain Dowie said: "Samuel is a young striker with potential, he leads the line well and uses his body very well for someone so young."
