Club captain Adam Bolder has now been with Rangers a year after joining from Derby in January 2007.
DOB 25/10/1980
Height - 5ft 9ins
Weight - 10st 8lbs
Contract - 2009
Adam Bolder was John Gregory's second signing of the 2007 January transfer window, moving from Derby County for an undisclosed fee.
Bolder could best be described as a Marc Bircham type player with more pace and less injuries and his combative style was obviously something that attracted Gregory to him as Rangers tried to battle away from the wrong end of the Championship. Gregory worked with the former Hull City man during his time as manager at Pride Park and the Derby fans feel that this was when Adam played his best football for the Rams.
The 26 year old has signed a two and a half year contract with Rangers who beat off competition from, among others, Bolder's former club Hull City to get his signature. John Gregory praised Bolder's former Derby team mate Dexter Blackstock for his influence in the deal.
He went on to make 16 appearances in the Hoops and proved to be an inspirational signing. His battling performances were a major factor in the R's fight against relegation. Gregory made Bolds captain ahead of the 2007/08 season but despite a winning goal at Charlton and his first Loftus Road goal against Leicester he failed to regain his form from the previous season and was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday for the last three months of the season. He became an instant hit with the Owls' fans by scoring twice in the Sheffield derby at Bramall Lane.
Bolder joined Derby from his first club Hull in 2000 and made his debut against Manchester United in the Premier League. He scored 11 goals in 181 appearances for the Midlands club and won their Player of the Year award once.
