LFW Pub Guide - The Central Bar

A good mix of home and away fans can be found in an ideal location for people arriving via the Central Line to Shepherds Bush. Excellent prices, half decent food and plenty of space as QPRGaz reports.

Reviewer - QPRGaz

Name of Pub - The Central Bar

Location - Opposite Shepherds Bush central line tube in the shopping centre.

Size - Large.

Selection of Beer - it's a Wetherspoons so pretty big - as yer usual muck plus various guest beers and spirits.

Price of drinks - As I said, it's a Wethers so fantastic for London.

How full does it get on match days? Depends, usually fairly rammed. There's plenty of seating but you won't always get any.

Fitness of bar staff - Usually a fair few fit Eastern European types.

How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? 10-15 minutes-ish, or just hop on a tube to White City if you're a lazy git.

Sky Sports - erm...

Suitable for away fans? Usually a fair mix - never seen any trouble although it has been a bit on top on a few occasions.

Suitable for families and kids? They are allowed in during the day but it wouldn't be my first choice.

What's the smoking situation? Old school in many parts.

Beer Garden - Well as it's on the first floor of a shopping centre - no. You do get a great view of Shepherds Bush Green though.

As far as toilets go just how bad are these? Not bad.Usual mix of terracing and seating, three traps.

Does it serve food? Yes.

If so is the food any good? Usually pretty good and the prices are reasonable too - 2 meals for a fiver, mixed platters to share etc. Don't expect cordon bleu though.

Trendy Modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between? Like many Wetherspoons they've tried to style it up a bit but as it's mainly full of drunks and students it's more of a traditional boozer.

In one sentence why should people visit steer clear of this pub: It's very cheap so if you like to have a few it's the perfect spot. On the other hand, whilst it's full of football fans, it's not a 'football pub' i.e. you don't get much singing etc.

Anything else to add? Yes, I'll have a cold Guinness please.
