Brett Pitman and Gareth Evans won't be fit to return to the Pompey side against Gillingham this weekend, Kenny Jackett says.
The pair both hobbled out of the loss at Southend just over a fortnight ago and although they are making good recoveries, this Saturday's Gills clash will come too soon.
The following week's visit to Oldham is a more likely target for them.
Meanwhile Jackett and his coaching staff are running the rule over Northern Ireland international midfielder Paul Paton - a free agent following his release from St Johnstone.
The 30-year-old could boost Pompey's midfield options following injuries to the likes of Danny Rose and Stuart O'Keefe.
