Anton Walkes didn't take long to utter the P word after completing a permanent switch to Pompey.
The 21-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, was a popular loan addition to Kenny Jackett's squad last winter. Now after a long and drawn-out saga, he has joined the Blues.
He told the club website: 'It’s a great feeling because this has been developing for quite some time now. I was getting fit again from my injury over the summer and there was a lot of talk going on, so I had to be patient.
'But I want to get settled here, have somewhere to call home and push on from what happened last season. There are a lot of great people at Tottenham and I thank them for getting me to the point I’m at, but now it’s all about doing well for Pompey.
'This is definitely a new beginning for me and it’s the challenge that I need at this stage of my career, as I try to push on. We know what the level is and how we have to improve. There’s a great group here and promotion is the expectation.”
