Marcus Harness had nine years at Burton - but now he's looking forward to a new start at Pompey.
The 23-year-old winger describes himself as a creator and scorer of goals and is Kenny Jackett's latest recruit for the new campaign.
Pompey fans have generally given the news a warm welcome and Harness said: 'I’ve been at Burton since I was 14 and now it’s nice to move on to the next step in my career. I loved my time there, but sometimes you get opportunities that you just can’t turn down — I’ve played at Fratton Park before and know the size of this club.
'The fans here are amazing and I remember watching them in the Premier League when I was younger, so this felt like a chance to progress. I’d heard murmurs for a few weeks and then things happened literally overnight. It’s all gone so fast.
'It’s been a bit mad for me, but I’m just happy to be here and am really excited about what’s to come. I try to create and score goals. I want to get on the ball and make things happen — hopefully I can do a lot of that here.
'The gaffer thinks I can fit in to what he’s trying to do that, so I want to get into the team and help them to push on. I know this club should be higher than they currently are and will be working hard with the rest of the lads to make that happen.'
