Kenny Jackett is happy that Pompey are creating chances - but unhappy they're not taking them.
That, as far as he is concerned, was why they didn't beat Gillingham at Fratton Park last week - and he wants to see them sharper in front of goal when they visit AFC Wimbledon this weekend.
They're without Brett Pitman up front, which will either see a change in formation with John Marquis used as a lone striker or a call-up for Ellis Harrison to play alongside the ex-Doncaster marksman.
Jackett said: 'We didn’t capitalise on our chances enough against Gillingham last week and that’s something we need to improve on. Drawing was a frustrating outcome and we fell away a bit, so are looking for a better outcome on Saturday.
'Wimbledon are on a good run at the moment and they have threats going forward, which will require us to be at our best defensively. 'They’re capable of creating a lot of opportunities, but I know there’s a win there for us if we get our own game right.'
Pompey head to south London still closer to the bottom three than the play-off zone but know a couple of wins will get them looking up not down.
The Dons are in the bottom three but have been boosted by a 4-1 win at Southend last time out and Pompey will need to be at their best to gain the win.
