Defender looks to be on his way to doing Pompey deal

Pompey appear close to adding Sean Raggett to their squad for 2020-21.

It's reported that negotiations to make the former loanee from Norwich a permanent name on the payroll are nearing completion.

Raggett had a shaky start to life at Fratton a year ago but improved over the course of the season and was a regular alongside Christian Burgess as the season wore on. Burgess' departure for Belgium will have made the Blues keen to tie down Raggett and it appears they are on course to do so.

The News said negotiations with the defender gathered pace this week and an agreement to see the free agent’s return to Fratton Park could be sealed over the weekend.

The News said: 'It would represent the Blues’ first piece of business in the summer transfer window, which opened on Tuesday.'

Norwich decided not to offer Raggett a new deal despite his performances last season gaining attention from the Championship - which of course the Canaries will be in net term.

Raggett has held talks with other clubs.
