Massive threat - Pompey boss recommends ignoring Luton's league position

They may be out of form - but John Mousinho is not reading anything into the recent form of Luton, Pompey's hosts this weekend.

The Blues have won three in a row but the head coach still believes the Hatters will be out to end his side's recent run, as they bid to improve their own perilous position in the Championship relegation battle,

Mousinho told the club media: 'Luton are a massive threat. They were in the Premier League last season and have still got many of those players.

'We have to forget about the league position they’re currently in because we know they’ll be right at it.

'It’s important that we don’t think we’ve cracked it after getting one away win, so have to be ready to go again.

'The result of this game won’t define our season either way, but obviously a positive result puts us in a good position.

'It’s still a difficult place to go and get a victory, although with a sold out away end, we can still be confident.'

Luton drew 0-0 at Fratton early in the season and at time plenty of observers thought that was a decent result for the Blues - with few predicting Luton's struggles that would unfold.

Injury wise, it's a guessing game with Mousinho declining to give a midweek update on the likelihood of us seeing any or all of the four players who picked up knocks in the win over QPR - Rob Atkinson, Hayden Matthews, Zak Swanson and Isaac Hayden.

The teamsheet will tell us all we need to know when it comes off the photocopier at 2pm on Saturday...
