I know Nardi isnt great at crosses, but if you look back at the keepers we have had since 2010, where would you rank him?
Since the 2010/2011 season, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) has had a number of goalkeepers feature for the first team.
Based on the available season data, here is a list of QPR goalkeepers since 2010, including those who made the majority of appearances or were significant parts of the squad:
Paddy Kenny (2010-2012)
Radek Černý (Was at the club since 2008, appeared until 2012)
Júlio César (2012-2013)
Rob Green (2012-2016)
Brian Murphy (Appeared in 2013/14)
Alex McCarthy (Appeared in 2014/15)
Alex Smithies (2015-2018)
Matt Ingram (Appeared between 2015-2019)
Joe Lumley (Came through the academy, appeared between 2015-2021)
I have to agree with Brian on this one I didn’t think he had a good game. The two crosses in the first half I thought punching the ball was the more difficult option. The first in particular looked like a simple catch to make to me. The corner in the second half, although it was a good save in the end, I can’t help feeling that if he was a better keeper he wouldn’t have to be making that save.
Having said that I agree with some of the other comments, he’s a good lad and does give us everything, despite being treated shabbily and he is pretty much all we have.
And we won and it was bloody great and we’re 6th in the bloody league. Yoouuu Rrrr’s! 🥳
24th out of 29th in our Division. 23rd out of 24th for keepers who've played ten games or more.
Sadly, this correlates with last season's stats as well. And shot-stopping is his strong point.
Even allowing for interpretation - for instance, perhaps QPR allow more shots in front of goal or close in that are harder to save than the average team - it's grim reading.
Ultimately, he's ranked 13th in the league for clean sheets if I am reading that correctly on less appearances than some of those higher up
The stats can be deciphered in different ways but I'm sorry he is a solid average championship keeper and for the most part he had done a good job. Is there better out there? Of course but there is also a WHOLE lot worse and we have witnessed it recently

Those stats are brutal. I mean, nobody thought he was the bastard love-child of Gigi Buffon and Lev Yashin but still.
'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'
I don't mean that I think he's a great keeper, or that we shouldn't try to upgrade on him.
I just think that he buys into the club and does his best, and I think he's been shabbily treated but hasn't let it affect his commitment. So I'm always pleased when he does well.
(Appreciate this isn't really the point of those who have criticised him on this thread, who have done so reasonably and proportionately. But I think it needs to be said.)
Yeah, I agree with the spirit of that. Although this Nardi/general football thing of never catching the f*cking ball I find hard to wrap my head around. He's also 31 now, which isn't very old for a keeper, but he's unlikely to change/improve now. (We don't seem to have coached much, or very effectively - much like the rest of our defence.)

A clean sheet isn't down to just the keeper. The fact is Nardi makes some incredible saves. And that's entertaining. And watching QPR is often dull as pisswater.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Somewhere, in an alternate dimension, a urologist is complaining about pisswater being as vivid as watching QPR...

Am I the only one on here that wouldn't want to see Seny Dieng back here in January. I understand we need an upgrade on our goalkeepers but I think Senys time is done here.

I'm with you. I'm with Clive that I prefer my professional goalies to be... professional.
I really dunno. It's not so much that he always punches the ball, it's more that it's trajectory is uncertain when he does. Post punch the ball tends to go "up," as much as "out." I think that's why it rattles our defenders so much. Maybe he has weak wrists! ; )

He doesn’t really punch - his arms are mostly locked so he kinda pushes it with his fist(s).
Superman stylee.
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?
He's a bag of nerves. The new manager clearly did not like what he saw over the summer and duly dropped him for an unproven rookie. Circumstances have meant he got a recall but jeez, my heart stops anytime he has the ball at his feet or if there's a cross to be dealt with. We had all this with Lumley, spent to much time mollycoddling him, giving him umpteen chances but ultimately he was not good enough. Nardi needs to be rested ASAP and moved on as soon as we can get cover. An obviously jittery keeper who flaps at crosses is ruinous for any team with aspirations of being successful. I dont know severity of Hamer's injury but he urgently needs reinstating.
