This academy is an exciting chance for youngsters to take the next in professional football world with Steve Claridge trying to spot young talents to give them a helping hand in professional football world. The intakes for the academy have started. Please register your interest by emailing marketing@ptcsports.co.uk or call 07579803833 to register your interest. Read below more details: The Steve Claridge Football Academy

Qualifications available (16-19 year old)
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport 1 year course
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) 2 year course
Additional qualifications will be available and specific for the learner for their future progression into Higher Education or into Employment.

The Academy is a unique opportunity for any aspiring footballer who wants to progress in the game who has not been given the chance before. The Steve Claridge Academy offers full time opportunities for the players to train and develop their skills everyday and be involved in fixtures every Wednesday afternoon as well as playing against professional clubs.

Alongside their training they will complete either a BTEC Level 2 or Level 3 in Sport depending on the GCSE qualifications the player achieves whilst at School or College. The course will be embedded into the Football programme as the unit of study for example fitness testing unit can be used to test the players ability and the players test each other and this can be used as evidence for their coursework. This method allows the players to learn in a live environment rather than in a classroom.

The learning experience will develop the player for their future either within football, education or into employment. With the football we at PTC Sports have links with Professional teams in this country and abroad where we can send the players out on trial if they are playing well and working hard in the classroom. We have a franchise arm to the business where after the players have finished their qualification we can guide them into coaching roles. Those players who want to continue their education pathway we can support them with their UCAS application forms for University.

As part of our commitment to the players they will be given breakfast and lunch each day they are in the Academy which will be free for the players. Each meal will be specifically designed for the player to develop their understanding of Nutrition and the importance that it plays in developing to be a footballer.

From September 2013 when the course begins portacabins will be in place for the beginning of the course. With the portacabins there will be state of the art technology for the learners to use to assist them with their studies. A full time tutor will be their to guide them through their education side of the qualification and the players will have a full time football coach with them as well as Steve Claridge coaching the players and passing his experience and knowledge.
