Well...the word doing all the heavy lifting in the title of the award is "Sports".
Only hard core anti-wokers would suggest that the football and rugby played by the relevant nominees is not sport as imagined by the guiding principles of said award.
There were lady winners in 1962,1963 and 1964 when I don't recall being woke was something that influenced either the nominating committee or the voting public.
I won't vote but will root for the person that demonstrated fitness, passion, extreme skill and drove her Country to World Cup victory.

The last 12 hours on here is living proof (if it was ever needed) that supporting the Saints is something that should only be done under the strictest of medical supervision.
Has anyone suffered any of the following issues this season:
1.Hoping we would lose games under Still in order to hasten his exit.
2.Fearing to celebrate our 6 out of 7 run cos we might lose the next 6 and look like dicks.
These are well known and understandable symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia and nothing to worry about (too much).
Took my grandson to school bus earlier (13 y.o. Spurs fan) and told him of our 6 out of 7.He started waving his hands about and shouting 6-7, 6-7,6-7 which I believe is a current "thing"...I told him he would be laughing on the other side of his face when we bring back National Service.
Don't forget your medication when you get home Grandad says he on leaving the car.

I don't disagree but the modern game has made the 6 yard box a bear pit of shithousery when well delivered corners come in. There's an element of lottery there.
Here's an idea...spend some time coaching how not to concede corners ( not a serious suggestion) |

I struggle to be hyper critical of a manager who is boasting a win % just shy of 90.
I also console myself that any team I've played in, or watched, has always won if they score more goals than the other lot. |

Rough crowd on here.
Modern day Gaza City (what's left of it) was known in Biblical times as Azzah. It was the major fortified city of the Philistines. It was also said to be the venue for the relegation six-pointer between David and Goliath which David won to stay up on goal average.

I was working at BP in Moorgate at the time. It was nearly my last day there.
When we heard (a.m. the 9th) four of us decided a couple of scoops at lunchtime would be in order...funny to think, but we were actually quite shaken up by the news.
Fast forward 3 hours and we had the whole of Davys wine bar singing his songs at max decibels whilst pummelling Old Wallop and ,later, Tawney Port ( don't ask me why..we never had before ).
Next morning we were met with a stony silence and summoned into the managers office.
His PA read the rap sheet...like idiots we had returned to the office after the impromptu wake...schoolboy error.
1. 2 wpb's containing traces of vomit
2. new stains on carpet of indeterminate nature
3. porno mag left on desk
4. inappropriate remarks made to both male and female staff on the reception desk when leaving the building
Luckily our manager and the reception guys turned out to be Lennon geeks too and we had a lunch to apologise profusely, reminisce and celebrate our continued employment.

The dole queue mob...Potter,Rodgers,Gerrard Ralph, O'Neill etc are all to some extent sitting on recent failures. In the unlikely event any of them have interest in us, it will on the basis of "big names need big bucks " and they will come with more than a hint of " doing us a favour".
Versus those guys I would take a young hungry German any day. Top work ethic, ambitious, driven and fully aware we are doing HIM a favour which he will want to repay.
Maybe aa idealistic view but it's all I got. |

I once came across Ronnie Wood in between my wife's legs.
He was in the seat in front of her on a transatlantic flight around 1985 and back then there were smoking areas. Once the sign had been switched off, Ronnie lit up. Suddenly a stream of expletives was followed by Ronnie appearing on all fours, interacting with my wife's legs, looking for his dropped snout.
