Very much in Jim McNultys hands the fans dont select the team make substitutions, change formations etc.

McNulty must be near the top of longest serving managers in the conference.

Because city and Arsenal still have to play each other its in both of their hands…if either team win out the title is theirs…same for the Dale.

Cant see that happening so the more realistic challenge for Dale is dont drop more points than York.

Lets remember game of the season could be the last game…Dale v Minstermen.

There are some really scathing comments on there…thats a club that is as high as it has ever been in its history. A really tough gig for whoever takes that on. Fans seem to be expecting qualifying for europe.

Job done…’slump’ ended.

If Hornets beat winless Hunslet tomorrow it will mean both the towns professional teams are top of the league. I dont think that has happened ever in 118 years.

The only game we have failed to score in….lets hope we make them pay for that while putting an end to our midseason ‘slump’…two games without a win and conceded goals in three consecutive games. Hadn't done either all season. That really highlights how well we have been going until the recent games.

According to posts on the oldham rugby trl site they have hardly any players sponsored this season and they are suggesting it might have something to do with the newly appointed CEO increasing the cost of sponsoring a player by several hundred per cent.

The oldham (ex) chairman appears to have lost the plot completely.

If we had drawn them we probaly would have lost to them.

Hope the night club bouncers go easy on our esteemed captain. We need him to be fit to toss the coin.

We have ticked a lot of boxes this year….the one remaining box to tick is winning the BIG games which means York Scunthorpe and play off games if necessary.

Update on the pitch
at 00:38 9 Feb 2026

It was a great day for the club and their fans and much needed funds for the coffers…just as when we got drawn to play Liverpool in the cup and got beat 7-0. In Hornets case it was part time players against finely tuned full time athletes and current world club champions. in those sort of games the score hardly matters. Enjoy it while you can and then back to the league games.

Just checked...the Castleford loss was 106 - 0 in 2007.

Bradford beat hornets 82-0 in 2019 so that rather pathetic drop goal on half time made this Hornets second largest defeat . Interesting that all three hammerings were at Spotland.

And another clean sheet. The defence has been magnificent…only Arsenal have conceded fewer goals than us.

I think it was late 1950s when he played for dale. I think he might have played at spotland for barrow later in his career. I am not at home at present so cannot check my records.
