TRANSFER: Brann seek sponsorship to bring back Huseklepp

Norwegian side Brann Bergen are looking to bring Erik Huseklepp back to the club - and they could be helped by local businesses to do so and keep Huseklepp out of the hands of rivals Rosenberg.

Both Brann and the Trondheim-besed club have enquired about Huseklepp's availability, but are playing a waiting game to see how Pompey's situation develops. Husekelepp was left out of Pompey's squad for the training camp in Spain - a clear sign he is expected to move on.

'I can confirm that we have had discussions with the Brann on the Huseklepp opportunity. We are considering contributing to help the club, but I do not want to comment beyond that,' said Auto 23 CEO Jostein Hatlebrekke in the Norwegian press.

'Huseklepp is a profile of Bergen, and 23 Auto wants to help benefit the people of Bergen. We see it as an opportunity to start a collaboration with the sports club again,' he added..

Brann managing director Roald Bruun-Hanssen said that several companies have contacted the club wanting to help bring Huseklepp back.

'Bergen people are positive about this situation, and there are several who have contacted me and said that they are willing to help when needed. Auto 23 is one of those. It is of course positive,' he said.

However, Bruun-Hansen explained the situation was complicated, by Pompey's ongoing financial problems.

Huseklepp left Brann for Bari in January 2011, but after the Serie A club were relegated he signed for Pompey in the summer of 2011.
