Wigan v QPR Betting Preview
Wigan v QPR Betting Preview
Friday, 7th Dec 2012 23:13 by LFW Pundits

The three LFW pundits are in situ and ready to guide you through the weekend of sporting action, and point you in the direction of money making opportunities.

Andy didn’t quite use his favourite “it’s like buying money” phrase last week, but really laying Chelsea at West Ham (16/15) was exactly that, and not content with that generosity there are some tasty prices available on Liverpool going to the same way at Upton Park this weekend. That was, sadly, our only winner last week though.

Andy Hillman

Chelsea really are the gift that keeps on giving, aren’t they? It would appear that the whole of the betting community was backing West Ham (including me...) and they duly obliged, and then Chelsea follow it up by spanking Nordsjaelland (I call them ‘Ctrl-V’, as you never type that twice...) and still crashing out of the Champions League.

NAP of the Week - West Ham to beat Liverpool @ 21/10

West Ham, who are good at home, face Liverpool, who are rank away. And Liverpool are missing Luis Suarez. Ridiculous odds.

QPR related bet - QPR to beat Wigan @ 11/5

I’m going to keep this bloody bet going until it finally comes in. It’s yet another winnable game.

Ridiculous Longshot - Man U to beat Man City from behind @ 14/1

Man United have been behind in 15 of their 23 games this season, and they have recovered 21 points from losing positions. I reckon the timing is right for them to beat Man City at the moment, who are out of sorts at the moment.

Racing Tip - Ballabriggs 8/1 Beecher Chase

Donald McCain has a host of entries on Saturday and Ballabriggs in the Beecher Chase at Aintree is the pick for me. Winner of the Grand National in 2011 and has won in soft ground and ticks the right boxes at 8/1. Another interesting entry is in the 1.35 at Aintree with God of the Kop, owned by JP McManus it should be a decent price.

NAP - West Brom to win at Arsenal 6/1

The Baggies have had a couple of wobbles recently and I am not sure how they will react. Arsenal’s inability to do things the right way means they are still opposable and for this reason the 6/1 offer on the away side is still a decent price and is worth a couple of quid.

Longshot - Palace, Milwall and Middlesbrough all to win

Elsewhere Palace (23/20) entertain Blackpool and Ollie comes up against his former club, one of the inform clubs Millwall (13/8) travel to Ipswich and Middlesbrough (21/20) go to Peterborough. The treble plays just over 11/1 and is this week’s longshot

Finally our game at Wigan is winnable as the host have a few key injuries and suspensions. We are on the cusp of breaking a record (even an unwanted one) and you know what the R’s are like at screwing things up.

Come on you R’sssss

LONGSHOT - Saints/Fulham 12/5 , Liverpool/Stoke 10/3 draw double 05/10/12

NAP Gus McRae 3.45 Ascot Saturday 9/2, 2/11/12

NAP - Both teams to score Man Utd/QPR 11/10, 24/11/12

Previously advised:

Villa to win the League Cup Each Way 18/1

David Weir, Sports Personality of the Year, each way 40/1

Notebook – Owen Coyle new Scotland boss 10/1

The Pro

Rangers travel to the DW stadium for a really important game. Two decent draws with the woodwork denying a win last week are the grounding for what Harry will hope is third time lucky. Wigan have big defensive problems at centre back but in truth have always been poor in this area. Even with ten men the Latics passed the ball for fun last week against the Toon however, for the first time in a long time, QPR have actually looked a bit more dangerous from set pieces with Clint Hill especially coming close a number of times in recent weeks. One thing that will be apparent on Saturday is that the ball will spend most of the time on the floor but it’s what happens from set pieces which will probably settle this game as both teams are massively susceptible in this area. I've got a sneaking feeling we may finally chalk up those three away points but the current prices don't interest me. I do however think it’s worth an interest on Clint Hill first goal scorer each way at 40/1. You will get a third of those odds for the place part if he scores at anytime. For those going, enjoy the trip - it could well be a good day.

Winners so far:

Norwich v QPR, 11/10 Under 2.5 goals 24/08/12

West Brom v QPR, more than 2.5 goals, 4/5, 05/10/12

James Morrison to score anytime v QPR, 5/1, 05/10/12

QPR and Everton to draw 13/5, 18/10/12
