Hi Ho Off To Three Side Stadium We Go

Swansea look to return to winning ways tomorrow as they aim to build on their league position with a win over Oxford United, languishing nearer the opposite end of the table to which many predicted.

It has been two successive league defeats for the Swans, both against sides that they possibly expected to beat and on that basis it makes a win at the Kassam more important before the huge top of the table clash on Saturday against Scunthorpe.

Garry Monk returns from one suspension as the club face up to the possibility of failing in their appeal to have the second one overturned but there is still no Andy Robinson who sits out the final game of his three match ban. Whether Monk will play depends solely on how impressed Kenny would have been with the performance of Alan Tate on the weekend where, by all accounts, he gave a good impression of himself.

For the home side, Steve Basham has a chance of playing after being struck down by laryngitis but he is their only fresh injury worry as they look to put some distance between them and the relegation zone.

Last season's trip to Oxford saw the then table-topping Swans capitulate in the last five minutes and losing 3-0 after holding on so valiantly but this time they face an Oxford team under the guidance for the third time of caretaker manager Darren Paterson after Graham Rix was moved upstairs which is normally the place before exit in most football grounds.

Oxford's though remains a joy to fans everywhere and will be in some splendour when they build the fourth side to it and anyone wanting to make a few quid should stand behind the goal at the open end and make off with the match balls - you will need to fight off a few locals first.

Warnings remain to Swans fans not to park on the grass verges around the ground as ticketing is strict and expensive.
