2005/2006 Fixture List Out Tomorrow

The new football season will seem to be a big step closer this time tomorrow as football fans up and down the country sit back and wait for the new football fixture lists to decide their locations on Saturdays between August and May.

The 552 League One fixtures are in the computer and Swans fans wait to see which one of their 46 ties will be thrown to them on the opening day of August 6.

Most believe that the new season will open with the first league game at White Rock due to the community shield in Cardiff the following day. And whilst that game is just about guaranteed to be a sell out the opponents will not be known until 10am on Thursday morning.

There have been many 'leaks' on various web sites seeing us paired against Bournemouth, Bristol City and even Bradford but with each leak the football league have strongly denied the fixtures have been leaked.

Swans fans are also split on who they would like to see as opening day opponents although my own preference would be a win and I really don't care who it is against.

And with the release of every years worth of football fixtures there comes the usual crap about their copyright. In the past unofficial web sites have been denied the chance to publish full fixture lists without a copyright licence - something which runs into hundreds of pounds.

But that aside tomorrow afternoon you can make your plans for trips to Hartlepool, Nottingham Forest and Tranmere and be thankful that Rochdale, Carlisle and Barnet are not for us this time around.
