Less than a week after the fixtures for the season were announced, there will be another date in the diary tomorrow as the draw is made at 7am for the first round of the Carling Cup.
The clubs are split on a North/South basis and the Swans have been marked as unseeded in the Southern half of the competition which is based on league positions last season. And it's a guaranteed tie against one of the seeded teams in the southern section which includes the three sides relegated last term from the Premiership.

Swansea's record in the Carling Cup under any of it's previous guises is less than impressive with just one progression past their opening round in the past 10 seasons - that being courtesy of a 3-1 win over Millwall on aggregate back in 1999. Since that win, the Swans have exited the competition at the first hurdle against West Brom, Peterborough, Wolves, Bristol City and QPR. Will that luck change this year? Find out tomorrow
