Swans Open With Cheltenham At Liberty

The Swans once again find themselves at home on opening day

With the Charity Shield taking place one week later because of the World Cup everyone expected the Swans to open with an away trip but the football league have sprung a surprise and handed us a home tie against the newly promoted Robins. The Swans will then find themselves with two away trips to follow that on the Tuesday (8th Aug) and Saturday (12th Aug)

Those two games will be against Scunthorpe and Oldham - both places where the Swans picked up a point last season.

Other fixtures normally looked for by Swans fans sees a potential Blackpool weekender on 9th December whilst the divisions biggest draw. Nottingham Forest, will travel to the Liberty on 20th January with the game at the City Ground taking place on 30th September

Relegated sides Crewe, Millwall and Brighton face the Swans on

Crewe - Tue 26 Sep (H) and Boxing Day (A) Millwall - 21st Oct (H) 31st Mar (A) Brighton - 21st Apr (H) 5th Dec (A)

Our most local game of next season is Bristol City with dates there of 25th Nov (H) and 7th April (A) whilst Yeovil and Cheltenham are always looked for by Swans fans and those games will take place on

Yeovil - 2nd Sep (H) 24th Feb (A) Cheltenham - Opening day with the return at Whaddon Road on 3rd Feb

Now that the fixtures are out, fans all over the country will be completing their diaries for the forthcoming season and no doubt tomorrow employers up and down the country will find requests for leave on their desks - especially for Tuesdays in November!

The season will end with a home game against Blackpool whilst the last away trip will be Carlisle on 28th April
