The club announced on Tuesday that they were about to sign a new striker and whilst the speculation was John Hartson and Darryl Duffy it was back in his homeland that Bob had been busy securing the services of the striker.

And whilst the move does not kill the Duffy deal it does mean that there may have to be a departure before that is completed as Bussy brings the total number of strikers in our squad back to four - assuming Jason Scotland has his work permit granted next week.

Speaking on the official web site, Martinez said "He is excited about joining Swansea City,

"And we are excited about having him in our squad. He has a fantastic pedigree at all levels in Spain, especially playing in the Under-20 World Cup, and is a great prospect.

"He's a different striker to the ones we've got. He's tall, good in the air and a good linkman. He plays deeper than an out-and-out striker and creates a lot of chances for people. In fact, his assist record is fantastic.''

The qualified teacher and fluent English speaker was an European Championship winner with the Spanish Under-16 team, playing in all six games alongside Atletico Madrid's 27m-rated striker Fernando Torres. He also started all three games for Spain in theUnder-20 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

The squad slowly starts to take shape for next season with Martinez also looking to bring in a new goalkeeper with several names on the horizon, a winger and possibly a defender well in advance of the season opening.
