Could Leon Crouch be returning to the boardroom at St Mary's

Information is that Leon Crouch met with Rupert lowe & Michael Wilde on Friday to discuss the situation at the club, whilst so far no news on what has been agreed has been forthcoming, it could be that as the Club's second largest shareholder Crouch could be back on the board.

Whether what was agreed or not as the case maybe had any effect on the events of Friday evening is unclear, but over the past week or so this site declared that with the state the Club is in, that the major shareholders should put their differences aside and work towards saving the club.

With the rumours of administration growing louder, its good to hear that the major shareholders are at least talking, whether administration is a real option is a moot point, the only real problem is the overdraft at the bank, whilst it remains finely balanced, the cuts of this season have reduced it substancially and when the much heralded big contract players leave in the summer, it will reduce fiurther still.

Many experts would consider the rumour of administration as no more than a warning shot across the bows of Barclays Bank, that they are prepared to take such a drastic move, of course administration would mean Barclays possibly seeing little of the money owed, its a game of cat & mouse.

Another reason why Barclays may back down is their sponsorship of the Premier, it would do little for their image if they were to chase Saints to the brink of extinction for a fairly small sum ie £4.5 million, whilst pumping far more per season into the Premiership, do not underestimate this factor.

Of course there are many who will accept nothing other than Lowe leaving to placate them, whilst this would be preferable for most, at this moment in time all shareholders need to work together to save the club this site makes no apologies for the fact that it tries to deal with the reality of the situation rather than just shouting "Lowe Out" at every opportunity as the answer to our problems.

This doesnt mean that I am pro Lowe or even anti Lowe, only that I am Pro Southampton Football Club, its survival and its long term future !
