Leon Britton has targetted three wins from three against Cardiff City this season

Britton was man of the match for the Swans on Tuesday night as they reached the fourth round of the Carling Cup at the expense of their rivals.

And whilst that victory took the Swans to that stage for the first time in more than 30 years, Britton was targetting a very first league double over their near rivals after sampling his first Welsh derby atmosphere.

Britton told the Evening Post "I'd heard so much about the derby before Tuesday, about how I wouldn't believe what the atmosphere was like

"When it came to it, everything people said to me was true.

"The atmosphere was electric and the noise was deafening, especially when people started whistling at the end.

"The volume was making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I just can't wait for the next derby game to come around.

"We want to win all three against Cardiff and we can't wait to face them again.

"These are the kind of games you want to be involved in," Britton added.

"When the crowd are so pumped up and behind you, it gives you that extra boost and you want to do well for them.

"The players all knew how important the game was for the fans.

"After the final whistle we huddled together and celebrated a little more than usual because we were delighted to give them the bragging rights until we play Cardiff again.

"We haven't had enough clean sheets," Britton conceded.

"We have dominated but conceded goals and that's cost us a few points.

"But hopefully we can build on Cardiff in our next few games.

"We have some tough league fixtures coming up, but we have to try to pick up some points. The Cardiff win should give us a lot of confidence."
