Hot on the heals of Roberto Martinez and his back room staff, Physio Richie Evans has now joined Wigan.

Rumours had been circulating on Planet Swans over the last week that he was set to leave the club for pastures new. He will now link up with former assistant boss Graham Jones, former chief scout Kevin Reeves, Oscar Brau and Inaki Bergara at the premiership club.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has thanked Evans for both his commitment and long service to the club as he outlined on the official site, he said “While we are sorry to see him go, his commitment and service to this club over the last 10 years has been first class. He feels he needs a change after a decade with the club and I have thanked him personally for what he has done for us over the years.''

Yesterday details of the new look management team under soon-to-be Swansea boss Paulo Sousa were revealed. The 36 year old Portuguese will bring with him three new staff, including two assistants and also a European scout, who has already been recruited as Jenkins confirmed to the News Of The World, “He'll be given a free hand to do what he wants and will have our backing. He'll bring in two young assistants with him, one from Spain, and we've also hired a European scout on his saying.”

Sousa is also primed to add a goalkeeping coach and with the departure of Evans to the Latics a complete overhaul of the medical team at the club could be a priority for the new boss.

Former QPR assistant coach Bruno Oliveira could be one of the new faces at the club. Oliveria's contract was terminated by the London club following the controversial sacking of Sousa.
