Another Super Crowd At SMS
Another Super Crowd At SMS

Almost twice as many people watched Saints as were at Fratton Park

Saints with 20,446 had nearly double the crowd than watched Pompey beat Sunderland, where 10,315 turned out.

But if you take into account away fans, Ipswich had 3,341 at SMS then their would have been twice as many home fans at ST Mary's compared to Fratton.

But taking that little fact apart, it was another big crowd for Saints, showing how Saints support is slowly but surely coming back, and it is these big crowds that are allowing Alan Pardew to spend in the transfer window.

Take the Boxing Day crowd against Exeter, the revenue generated just by the extra 10,000 above the seasons average would have virtually paid for latest signing Lee Barnard and this is why its important to keep the turnstiles clicking not just for this season but also for next.
