What I.Saw - Time For Nigel To Praise In Public & Bollocks In Private
Wednesday, 25th Sep 2013 14:22 by I.Saw

I haven't a bad word for any of our players last night. Thought they gave their all. Could have easily been three or four up. High octane performance.

Freeman was outstanding, often up against two, never went missing or ducked out of a challenge; he was caught heavily by Nugent after the ball had gone a card of some colour deserved not given.

Coutts went down heavily in the box and had to be assisted from the field to be replaced by Davies.

And we bossed the game accumulating with Martin scoring after good work by Sammon and Russell.

Could we hold on for an hour? It looked like we could. But we tired.

Lesta scored as our wall jiggled up and down, not sure what that was all about but it looked silly and as the ball was smashed through the wall (or so it seemed) totally ineffective.

Then we knew there was only one winner.

Sure enough a second came along.

And as full time came, Clough brought on Jacobs for three minutes of injury time.

A pointless substitute too late.

Afterwards in the car listening to Radio Derby the Manager was asked was Jacobs close to a start at the King Power, "Yes, he was close but we wanted to keep a strong side and we weren't too happy with him for the third against Reading".

I shook my head with disbelief, "never mind winning the game then Nigel it's all about making a point".

Still maybe the Mighty Rams can be the first to dip into the Emergency Loan Market and come out with a loanee Manager, one who praises in public and bollocks in private.
