Patrick Agyemang was the surprise hit of 2007/08 after signing in January from Preston North End but endured an injury hit 2008/09.

DOB -  29/09/80
Height - 6ft 1ins
Weight - 14st
Contract - 2012

Ageymang cost the R's £300,000 when he moved south from Deepdale and it would be fair to say his signing hardly inspired the QPR faithful. After several seasons warming the Preston bench few held out much hope of him making a big impact but he wasted no time in winning his new supporters over with an incredible run of eight goals in six matches.

He made his debut in the FA Cup defeat at Chelsea in January but opened his account a week later in the league at Sheff United. He then scored against Barnsley, Bristol City (two), Southampton (two), Cardiff and Burnley. With Preston stuggling to stay in the league their fans could bee forgiven for wondering what on earth their club had done letting Agyemang go so cheaply and although his form tailed off as the season went on his final numbers of nine goals from 17 starts were highly creditable.

Much was expected of the robust forward in 2008/09 then but he struggled with injuries throughout - sitting out with hamstring injuries before Christmas and then a ripped thigh muscle from January through to April. He managed just two goals, against Southampton and Preston on the last day, in the whole season and will be hoping for better fitness in 2009/10.

Agyemang came through the Wimbledon youth set up at the same time as Mikele Leigertwood and Jason Euell, spending time on loan at Brentford before making his first team debut. His form of 22 goals in 116 appearances was hardly prolific, and he struggled to score consistently at Gillingham and then Preston as he moved around the Championship looking for a permanent base.

Now back in London, Agyemang has once again shown his ability and potential and will spend the 2008/09 season trying to fulfill that once again. Agyemang has three caps for Ghana.
