Pompey's friendlies will be followed by a friendly set of fixtures Wednesday, 21st Jun 2017 23:22 by pompey-fans.com staff Pompey fans are plotting the next nine months after the fixture computer handed them a campaign reasonably free of unfriendly trips and games. They will start their League One at home - and end it at home. They'll also be at home on Boxing Day and Easter Monday, and - at present - have to contend with only one long midweek away trip. Rochdale will be the visitors to Fratton on the opening day, August 5, while Oxford give them their first away trip a week later. The visit to Wigan comes before August is out while Northampton are the Blues' first midweek hosts on September 12. Doncaster away is a Tuesday night fixture on October 17 - in the same week they must also go to Blackburn. December brings only two away games in five, with Charlton and Shrewsbury their destinations. AFC Wimbledon are at Fratton on Boxing Day - as they were in 2013 while New Year's Day takes the Blues to Bristol Rovers. Easter weekend sees a visit to Walsall and a home game with Cook's Wigan, and Kenny Jackett's team will play two of their final three games at home, with Charlton and Peterborough heading this way. Elsewhere on the opening day sees games including Bradford v Blackpool, Southend v Blackburn and Fleetwood v Rotherham.
