Pompey's players are back in business - and it's a good job too with the first friendly on the horizon this weekend.

They looked in good shape and good spirits as they returned for the first day of pre-season tranining at their Copnor training ground.

It was just two days before they begin their programme of friendlies with a trip to Salisbury.

The squad - including new signing Nathan Thompson and the usual one or two trialists - were put through a gentle bit of running before getting down to some high-energy ball work all under the guidance of new manager Kenny Jackett.
