We know what we did right - and what we did wrong

Kenny Jackett was reasonably upbeat despite Pompey's loss to Bradford.

He felt the Blues had given a good account of themselves against one of the division's high flyers - but knew exactly where it had gone wrong in terms of a result. It finished 1-0 to the Bantams after Pompey had missed some clear-cut chances.

Jackett told the club website: 'A lot of the aspects of our play were very good — our tempo, we passed the ball well and created a number of chances. We dominated a lot of the match, but didn’t do enough from our set-pieces and sometimes you need that in tight games.

'Getting the right ball into the box and attacking it at the right time is something that we just didn’t do and it’s feature of where we are. Bradford didn’t have many, but they nailed one of them. McMahon’s assists are very high and a key header from Kilgallon got them the points.

'We’ve had probably three times as many wide free-kicks and corners, but didn’t look anywhere near as potent. Unfortunately we just didn’t create clear-cut chances from those set-pieces and I think that was key on this occasion.

'It’s something we need to improve on and it’s been reflective of our season so far. We look at it every week and have to be better. There were some good things, though, and if we play like we did in this game then we will definitely pick up points.'
