75 points? A target too far for Pompey?
Monday, 5th Mar 2018 22:18 by pompey-fans.com staff

Pompey have not hit the 50-point mark yet but that has not stopped Kenny Jackett talking about them totalling as many as 75 by the end of the campaign.

That's the number of points he believes the Blues will need to get into the play-offs. It would require them to take 26 points from the final 11 games - eight wins and two draws, for example.

Looking ahead to Gillingham's visit to Fratton on Saturday, Jackett said: 'The target’s somewhere in the mid-70s, around 75. We have to get there or thereabouts.

‘It’s about believing we can do that and winning consecutive games firstly. But it’s six or seven on the trot which is the territory which can get you in there.

'We’re going to need to get somewhere in the mid-70s to get there in sixth spot. But you can win seven or eight games on the trot. That’s the territory we’re coming into.

‘We can do that. You can never know what could happen with the sides above. ‘For us, that’s our focus.’
