The LoftforWords pundits cast their weathered eyes across the QPR fixture against Barnsley on Saturday, and look for value elsewhere in the weekend market.

Lewis turned a profit last week by raking in £90 for backing QPR to win at Cardiff at, that meant a net profit of £60 once his losses had been deducted and took his total for the season back to -£46.32. Brian is still up £133.55 but had no winners last time.

The BBC should hang their heads in shame, next weekend they have the rights to show nine races for the Arc meeting at Longchamp but will only show two of them on terrestrial TV as they will be showing Moto GP. Ok the other seven races will be available via the red button but I refuse to do this just in case I get Garth Crooks on my screen and this will mean me putting my foot through the TV. They do have some action from Ascot this weekend and unless they decide to replace it with Strictly Come Decorating Your Attic where three celebs (Vanessa Feltz, Dean Gaffney and one of the cheeky girls ) come round to you house and tart up your loft and sell off any valuables that you may have at the Milton Keynes Car boot sale with all proceeds going into a fund at the end of the series in which Brian Harvey from East 17 will take dance lessons in order to take the lead in the Aladdin at the Bromley Theatre with Christopher Biggins. I will have a L15 and a punt on two of Michael Bells horses one of them on Sunday.

After last week’s win in Wales we have a home game against Barnsley. Mark Robbins who done a great job at Rotherham has recently taken over and has a couple of wins under his belt. However we should have too much for them at I am going for a 3-1 win with Ben Watson to get first goal.

I am not sure if I should mention F1 on a QPR website after the past few weeks but we will go for a 50/1 shot to win the Grand Prix. Top this all off with my football acca and I hope to get the sow back on the road with regards winners.

Modern technology can be a wonderful thing. Men have been sent to the moon, you can engage in live video chat from anywhere in the world and Anne Robinson at the glorious age of 105 would probably still get it, all thanks to technology. But when you try and send a severely important e-mail containing secret money making formulas which are only to be shared with LFW readers and the e-mail fails, your view on modern technology is much like Katie Price’s tits in the flesh, disappointing.

Of course this money making formula if had been delivered to LFW, would have made you a massive profit of 60 whole pounds. I just hope no-one has lost their house or have suicidal tendencies due to Clive’s…. I mean technologies malfunction of the money making formula.

This money making formula was of course the absolute stone cold banker that QPR would beat Cardiff last weekend, it was always going to happen. If I was to tell you that I also predicted every single correct result that was played over the weekend in a 46 game accumulator you probably wouldn’t believe me. And you would be right; I got 45 out of 46.

Rangers entertain Barnsley this weekend, both sides put in good performances in the cup midweek so morale will be high going into this one. Barnsley currently perform better on the road than they do at home, so even though Rangers will be strong favourites for the game after last week demolition job at Cardiff the Tykes will still pose a serious threat. But Rangers should have enough quality to get the job done by the odd goal. Also, a penalty at HQ as become a rarity of late, penalty taker Rowlands as started his comeback like a man possessed and is 5/1 with SkyBet to score at anytime on Saturday.

An incredible statistic involving Rangers this season is that in all seven league games there have been less than 2.5 goals in each game. The odds for 2.5 goals or less in each game this season has been around the even money mark (1/1), so that means if you had backed it with a £20 single in every game so far this season, you would be up about £140. Also last season, 30 out of the 46 league games involving Rangers had 2.5 or less goals in, that means a £20 stake for each game would have resulted in a £280 profit for the season. Isn’t that half a season ticket paid for? I know, I know, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but surely it is not rocket science to work out that Rangers don’t score many and don’t concede many, resulting in low scoring games. Just something to think about LFW. No surprises this week then, a high chunk of my money will be going on the 2.5 goals or less at 9/10 with Betdaq.

If you like money then this next bit is defiantly right up your street. I myself am a big fan, and I do (despite my record on this site) like making money, especially when I don’t have to earn it through hard work or slave labour. This weekend Rip Van Winkle (a horse I have followed intensely since making his 2yo debut last season) lines up in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot. This is no doubt a high class field, with all four of the runners deserving a chance at picking up the £250,000 prize fund, but RVW should finally announce himself on the scene as a world class performer with a win in this 1m Group One race.

In the 2000 Guineas and The Derby where he finished 4th on both occasions he was not given a clear run and was wondering all over the track, costing him 2/3 crucial lengths. However, his last two races have seen the Aidan O’Brien trained colt stay clear of trouble and produce scintillating performances. First he ran wonder horse Sea The Stars close at The Eclipse then convincingly went onto win his first Group One in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. As long as the horse stays out of trouble and that looks likely with only 4 scheduled for the race, he should have the class to win by 2/3 lengths.

I will be having a significant punt on Rip Van Winkle, but for LFW I’ll put him in an accumulator with other odds on shots to try and increase the profit with a smaller stake.
