Pompey boss is wary of improving Pilgrims

Kenny Jackett is wary of Plymouth's knack of improving in the second half of the season as he takes Pompey to Home Park on Saturday.

Argyle had a wretched start to the season, including a 3-0 defeat at Fratton in September.

But recently they've climbed away from the bottom four and are now top of the last-six form table, having taken 15 points from the last 18 available.

Pompey need a win having not picked up three points in a league game since January 1.

Jackett told the club website Plymouth were not to be taken lightly. 'They are in good form and they’re usually competitive games between the sides, full of quality football. Plymouth have pulled themselves out of trouble and always seem to have a strong second half to the season,' he said.

The boss is without defender Jack Whatmough for the rest of the season and will not have new winger Lloyd Isgrove availave this weekend - both have knee injuries. But Jackett hopes Dion Donohue and Bryn Morris will both be okay after knocks.
