Pompey boss doesn't want to worry about new deals for stars Monday, 9th Sep 2019 21:56 by pompey-fans.com staff Kenny Jackett says it's too early to start worrying about Pompey players who will be out of contract next summer. Ronan Curtis and Anton Walkes are among those whose deals end when the current season finishes - although those two are both among those for whom the club have extra-year options they can exercise. But the manager wants to focus on this season - which has had a slow start - rather than anything that might or might not happen once the campaign is over. He told The News: ‘I don’t think it’s contract time at the moment. For the next few months it’s going to be trying to get some results, with the group settling down and concentrating on football. ‘If there are any outstanding contracts we feel need to be looked at then yes, we will react, we do see that. But, generally, it will be about performances and concentrating on football, I don’t think it (contracts) will necessarily be high on the priority list. ‘This is a period where we try to win as many games as possible and concentrate on that. From the club’s point of view, I don’t think there will be a review of the contracts now.' Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
