Their 2-0 success over Sunderland last week was Pompey's eighth straight win in all competitions, even if only four of those have come in League One. A theme that's dominated the build-up to the visit to Prenton Park has been this: if Pompey's form is so good, and Tranmere's so poor, you just know what's going to happen, and it's not going to be a draw, nor an away win. That's an understandable worry given Pompey's propensity over the years to lose games everyone is certain they'll win, but it's a trait they should focusing on avoiding at Tranmere.
