Pompey's latest goal hero says more wins are round the corner

Sean Raggett says more goals and wins will come for Pompey if they keep playing as they have done in recent games.

The defender was on target but none of his teammates were as the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Ocford on Tuesday night.

They host King's Lynn in the FA Cup and face vital League One games at Blackpool and at home to Peterborough in the following week.

Raggett said confidence was high in the camp, telling the club website all that was missing from the performance against Oxford was a winning goal: 'I think we deserved the win because we had most of the chances in the game – and we’ve been taking them recently.

'We’ve scored an awful lot of goals already this season and, on this occasion, it just didn’t quite work out for us. But that can happen and we’re not going to get three or four in every game. When it’s like that, we have to keep things tight at the back.

'I think we did that for the most part and it’s just unfortunate that we’ve given away a penalty – one which I think was harsh. Personally, it looked like a good tackle from Jack. But we’re still in a nice position and anyone can beat anyone in this league, so I’m positive we can finish in that top two.

'If we keep creating that level of chances then with the forward players we’ve got, we’ll win a lot more games.'
