Pompey are fit and prepared - all they are missing is a fixture

Normal is probably not the right word for it but some kind of order has been restored at Pompey's training ground after their Covid-enforced shutdown over Christmas.
The players returned to training at the start of the week and were fit and raring to go against Accrington - until that game was called off because of a frozen Stanley pitch.
Pompey's squad should at least be in good shape by the time the next game comes around - at the moment that is due to be the FA Cup visit to Bristol City, although the Robins have now had a Covid outbreak too, which could put that game in the balance.
Boss Kenny Jackett, speaking on Friday, told the club website: 'We had to close the training ground down – which was the right thing to do to provide a circuit break and make sure it didn’t spread around. We’re clearly not exempt from Covid in football and I used the few days off to take a look at players for next month, as well as the sides we’ve got coming up.
'But we started training again on Monday and have had a normal week of training in the build-up to facing Accrington. One or two players needed an extra day in terms of their quarantine period because you have to apply the letter of the law.
'Everyone was back by Tuesday, which was good for us. We’re pleased to say we’ve got nobody struggling with symptoms – long may that continue. It gives us the best chance of being fit and prepared, making sure that we don’t lose any of our rhythm.'
