Fratton hammering has been coming for Pompey
Monday, 4th Mar 2019 22:17 by pompey-fans.com staff

Tom Naylor feels a thumping home win like that one that Pompey gained over Bradford has been coming for a while.

The 5-1 victory was Pompey's biggest Fratton Park success of the season - and their best goalscoring show at home since the 6-1 win v Cheltenham that clinched the League Two title in May 2017.

Naylor told the club website he was pleased to score his first goal at Fratton and said the players were now determined to build on the big win.

He said: '“It’s always great getting into the dressing room at the end and knowing you’ve taken all three points. I thought the result was thoroughly deserved and we had chances to score even more goals — we were continuously looking to get forward.

'Getting my first goal at Fratton Park was fantastic and I just reacted quickest when Ronan hit the bar. I was at Bradford for a few months, so it was a pretty short-term thing and I was only focusing on doing well for Pompey.

'The drone flying overhead was a new one for me and it was only a small thing, while there were a few more stoppages for injuries after that. There were a few cuts and bruises, but thankfully no muscle injuries and none of them seem too serious.

'It’s a great result and to score five goals at home is massive for us — I think it’s been coming for a while.'
