Burton DO have something to play for when they host Pompey

Kenny Jackett is not buying talk of Burton having nothing to play for when they host Pompey on Good Friday.

He believes the Brewers' recent form has given them a chance of the play-offs and is certain they will be out to keep those hopes alive when they entertain the Blues live on telly.

Pompey go into their Easter programme - which also brings a home game against Coventry on Easter Monday - two points off a top two spot but with their fate in their own hands. In other words if they win all their remaining five games, which include a trip to Sunderland next weekend, they will be promoted.

That sort of return is a long way off though and Jackett told the Pompey website Burton were a threat. He said: 'They’re one of the form teams in the division and after coming out of the Championship last year, they’ve still got an outside chance of the play-offs.

'I’m sure they’ll be thinking that if they can’t do that, then they will want to be in our position next season. Burton have a very good squad of players and are certainly extremely capable on their day, as we found out at Fratton Park earlier in the season.

'You can always build up the opposition to be more than they are or sometimes you can be complacent — we try to get the balance right. We’ll analyse their strengths and weaknesses, pay them plenty of respect and have the attitude of working hard to earn any points we collect.'

Viv Solomon-Otabor and Andy Cannon are added to the squad after injury although Jackett is expected to go with the same starting line-up that put Rochdale to the sword last weekend.
