Pompey head into a period of three games in eight days with the manager telling his players they need to do better than their performance against Luton.

The Blues may have won that first day encounter 1-0 but Kenny Jackett believes there is more to come from his team as they travel to Blackpool on Saturday ahead of home League Cup and league games to follow.

Jackett told the Pompey website: 'We have a win to build on, but we want to be better than we were in many areas last week. We’ll need to be. Of course we have to be honest about the level of the performance and now it’s a big few days for us, with Blackpool on the road and then two home games.

'We need to make adjustments and we want better build-up and composure because we didn’t get on the ball enough. Blackpool have made many changes over the summer — as a lot of sides have — and will be trying to find a rhythm.

'But we just have to concentrate on ourselves and work towards trying to produce a positive display on Saturday. There are a lot of fans travelling up this weekend. We’ll be very well supported and want to reward them for that.'

Transfer deadline day passed without any Pompey ins and outs but loans can still be done any time up to the end of August.
