Accy Stanley At Home In 2nd Round!

If Vale can despatch the mighty Dartford FC at the second time of asking, and we must surely presume that we can, our reward is a home tie in the 2nd round against Accrington Stanley. The path to the 3rd round, and a potential massive tie, is clearly lit and free from major obstacles. Or so it should be anyway.

We've already done Accrington Stanley at Vale Park this season, a comfortable 2-0 victory at the back end of September, and from what I remember Stanley were a dismal side - they came looking for a draw and made little attempt at playing football, negative and ugly to look at.

Who would we want in the 3rd? Man U? Liverpool? Chelsea? Or how about Stoke? How about a glorious local derby! We can only dream...

And of course, we have the little matter of knocking out Dartford to concentrate on, the replay coming on Tuesday 16th November. The Accy game, should we be playing in that tie - and it will be an utter catastrophe if we are not - will be played on either Saturday 27th Nov, or Sunday 28th.
