Jeff Goldblum: Micky Should Have Stayed...
Thursday, 30th Dec 2010 17:04 by Jeff Goldblum

Micky Adams had the chance to become a Vale Park legend, to reach the dazzling heights of the greats; John Rudge, Freddy Steele, Roy Sproson, Tommy Mclaren, Ray Walker, Craig James, Nathan Lowndes. The chance to be lauded on the streets of Burslem for the rest of time...

That opportunity has sadly now gone with Micky agreeing to take over at Bramhall Lane. A wise decision? I think not, my friends. He may well be fulfilling a lifelong ambition, but the timing is seriously flawed. The Blades are in a dreadful mess at the moment. Essentially Micky is going to spend the next four months attempting to keep a Godawful team, with debts of £19 Million, in The Championship. It's crazy. Micky could, and should, be leading the Mighty Valiants to a triumphant promotion up to League 1 and beyond. The stuff of dreams. Instead he's chosen the stuff of nightmares.

Our promotion push is now in the hands of The Hoss and Barney, and I am behind them 100%. The last 18 months have been truly awesome, let's all pray that it continues.

Wishing all Vale Fans the world over a happy and prosperous New Year.
