Dale have been placed in the Eastern half of the draw for the first round of the Johnstone's Paints Trophy.

As has been previously announced, Dale will not be on the receiving end of a bye in the first round of the Johnstone's Paints Trophy, having received one in the same round last year.

The byes in the Northern half of the draw have been awarded to: Grimsby Town, Hartlepool United, Leeds United, Macclesfield Town, Notts County, Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town and Tranmere Rovers.

As part of the further regionalisation of the first round draw, we have been placed in the North East section of the draw. This will mean that we'll be drawn against one of: Bradford City, Burton Albion, Chesterfield, Darlington, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Rotherham United

The draw for the first round will take place on Saturday 15th August.
