According to the Leicester Mercury, the whites' are yet again on the verge of signing Lee Peltier as we have been doing for two months, however we are now at "the advanced talks" stage.

The 25-year-old Scouser did play in Leocester's 3-1 win over Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday night and if the deal does go through then Peltier may find himself back at Burton again, Leeds take them on next Tuesday night!

It is understood that Leeds and Huddersfield have both had bids turned down, but our friends from down the M62 have dropped out of the bidding. Warnock has hinted he would like to add another new face to his squad before tomorrows visit to Preston North End, Leeds penultimate friendly before our League Cup opener against Shrewsbury. As well as Peltier, Warnock has been strongly linked with Craig Mackail-Smith who seems destined to quit Brighton.

Meanwhile former Leeds defender Darren O''Dea could be joining Andy O'Brien in Canada. O'Brien moved to Vancouver Whitecaps midweek and it is understood O'Dea has had talks with their MLS rivals Toronto. O'Dea was set to join Leeds having been on-loan from Celtic, but having recklessly got himself sent-off at Blackpool, Neil Warnock opted not to sign him.

Could be a good signing, as right-back has been a problem position for Leeds for a while. Connolly clearly wasn't good enough, and last season we tried quite a few players there without success. Let's hope that Peltier can do a job for us in that position.
