Time To End This Debacle
Time To End This Debacle

It is not the fault of John Gorman and Jason Dodd that we are in this mess, its the fault of the people who put them there.

I have been very critical of John Gorman and Jason Dodd since their appointment of joint caretaker managers, in truth they have not made a great job of it, but it is not their fault they found themselves in a situation where they had no choice but to step up to the plate.

John Gorman has of course been a manager in his own right before but truth of the matter is he has operated best as assistant and after trauma in his life following the death of his wife from cancer less than two years ago, he has resigned from managerial posts at both Wycombe and Northampton due to personal reasons, in truth it is unfair for the board to put him under this much pressure.

With Dodd its different, this time last year he was a couple of months into his first managerial position at Eastleigh, when he was given the coaching role at St Mary's I thought then he wasnt experienced enough quite yet for the step up to that level and that being the case then he certainly isnt ready to manage a side in the Championship.

All being equal its time the board sat down and realise the enormous pressure they have put these two honest decent men under, the fans turned on them at Bristol Rovers, but truthfully it is not their fault for being out of their depth.

The blame has to be laid firmly at the feet of the board, initially most Saints supporter sonly expected the D & G reign to be brief and a new man to be installed, however nearly a month later and there is no sign of a replacement for Burley.

Leaks out of the boardroom suggest that they are stalling as they hope to have a buyer for the club and that this man might want to employ his own manager, thats fine, but if that is the case then what is to stop Saints appointing a temporary replacement.

After all this is what Sheffield United have done,Kevin Blackwell was a name linked with Saints, if he accepted a temporary job at Bramall Lane then he would surely have done the same at St Mary's, likewise several of the out of work bosses linked with the post, Micky Adama, Coleman or Dowie, all men who might be prepared to take a short term appointment, knowing they are in a no lose situation.

So I issue this plea now to the board, we have heard nothing from you since the AGM in December, then we were promised a new Chairman of the PLC, that hasnt materialised and now we hear nothing from the boardroom regarding our new manager, its time to lead from the front and start to tell the fans the truth and its also time to put someone in charge of the first team who can offer leadership, Saints supporters hold Jason Dodd in high regard and have respect for John Gorman, neither deserve to be in this position and neither deserve to bear the brunt of the fans anger, none of which is of their doing.

Lets see decisive action from the boardroom NOW   !!!!!
